Mozart, small forces
Don Giovanni is the opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, libretto by Lorenzo da Ponte, first night 29 October 1787 in Prague. Mozart called it a dramma giocoso, a comic drama in which the catalogue of conquests and the dinner invitation to the dead Commendatore share one evening. The Hamburg version is an arrangement by Marius Adam. Music and arrangement: Ettore Prandi. Direction: Marius Adam. Set: Kathrin Kegler. Costumes: Marie-Theres Cramer.

The house with 200 chairs
One stage holds two companies. The children's theatre was founded in 1968. The city of Hamburg calls it the first private children's theatre in Germany. In 1996 the Hamburger Kammeroper was added, focused on 18th and 19th century music theatre, often rare pieces beside the famous ones. The auditorium is red and gold, with 200 different baroque chairs. The model was the baroque theatre. That is how the city describes the room.
The same stage plays for children in the daytime and chamber opera at night. Don Giovanni belongs to the evening run, not to the little Magic Flute at 09:30.
