14th edition, three stages
Dark Easter Metal Meeting is a two-day indoor festival at Backstage on Reitknechtstraße 6. The promoters are Backstage Concerts and MRW Concerts. Presented by Deaf Forever, Metal1.info, Rock Antenne and Schwarzesbayern.de. Werk, Halle and Club run at the same time. The two main stages, Werk and Halle, do not overlap.
It started in the Werk in 2012: 400 people, 6 bands. The Halle was added in 2014, the Club in 2015. Since 2018 three stages run across two days. From 2023 to 2026 each edition was 1,600 people and 32 bands, sold out well ahead. The 2020 and 2021 plans moved to 2022. 2027 is the 14th edition, set for 31 bands.
What is already fixed
The day split is still TBA. These 21 names are on the MRW Concerts page.
- Emperor, black metal, Norway. The only German club date in 2027. First German club since 1999, first Munich date since 1997.
- Candlemass, doom metal, Sweden. 40 years of doom.
- Primordial, pagan black metal / doom, Ireland. A best-of and a Germany-exclusive set from the 1990s, across two days.
- Towards the Sinister, death doom, England. Aaron Stainthorpe, Calvin Robertshaw, Rick Miah, Adrian Jackson. The My Dying Bride years 1990 to 1996.
- Ellende, atmospheric post black metal, Austria.
- Naglfar, black metal, Sweden.
- Melechesh, Sumerian black metal / death / thrash.
- Nordjevel, black metal, Norway.
- Dymna Lotva, atmospheric post black metal / depressive doom, Belarus and Poland.
- Firtan, progressive atmospheric black metal, Lörrach. Club in 2019, Halle in 2027. Album Helios, English lyrics only for the first time.
- Antimatter, dark rock. Leaving Eden, 20 years.
- Thulcandra, black metal / death metal, Germany.
- Yoth Iria, Hellenic black metal, Greece.
- Dödsrit, black crust, Sweden and the Netherlands. First time at the festival.
- Svarttjern, black metal / black 'n' roll, Norway.
- Asphagor, black metal, Austria. 20 years.
- Doodswens, black metal, the Netherlands.
- Vorga, cosmic black metal, Germany.
- Bianca, oneiric black metal, Italy. First show in Germany.
- Malphas, black metal, Switzerland.
- Unviâr, atmospheric black metal, Italy.
Ten more bands are still missing. Emperor leads the announcement: the only German club date in 2027, the first German club since 1999, the first Munich date since 1997. Primordial plays both days, a best-of and a Germany-exclusive set from the 1990s. Towards the Sinister is the My Dying Bride line-up of 1990 to 1996, one of the first shows of that formation.
Tickets
Two-day tickets only. 166 euro plus fee. On sale 6 September 2026 at 18:00, through Backstage Tickets, Eventim and München Ticket. The early bird sold during the 2026 edition is gone. Doors 13:00, music 14:30.
