Pianistin iO
Pianistin iO is a classical pianist from South Korea, born in Seoul. She was discovered at eight. She plays solo piano and writes the versions herself: orchestral scores, opera overtures, full piano concertos, set for one pianist.
Erik Satie sits at the centre. The recordings hold the 3 Gymnopédies, including the 3ème Gymnopédie (Lent et grave), and pieces that rarely show up in a catalogue: the 7ème Gnossienne, Alez, Calme. She wants music and poem in the same line, a story at the piano.
She plays solo at the Berliner Philharmonie and at the Konzerthaus Berlin. Concert proceeds go to UNICEF. That is her account.
Discography
She records on her own label. “The Art of iO” is the first album, published in Germany.
- Erik Satie: 3 Gymnopédies, darunter 3ème Gymnopédie: Lent et grave
- John Field: Nocturne Nr. 12 G-Dur, Lento
- Joseph Haydn: Sinfonie Nr. 94 G-Dur „mit dem Paukenschlag“, Hob. 1/94, Andante, 2. Satz, Fassung für Soloklavier von iO
“Poesie” is a second album: romantic miniatures and programmatic reductions. The track list of that record is not in this file. Separate Satie recordings add the 7ème Gnossienne, Alez and Calme.
